UCO Gear Sweetfire Strikable Fire Starters
Campfire Guy Loves Him Some Campfires!
Campfire Guy here. If there’s one thing I like to do, it’s start fires. (No your honor, I’d never actually be silly enough to put that in writing!) To build a campfire you need tinder, kindling, and firewood. Unless your idea of a nice evening is to sit around a pile of unlit wood, with cold, sad marshmallows on the end of your stick, you need a way to get your campfire started. Enter the UCO Gear Sweetfire Strikable Fire Starter. UCO Gear managed to combine a match with tinder to create a handy, lightweight fire starter.
The video below combines a product overview, demo, review and a little photo bombing courtesy of the Campfire Kids.

Pretty cool product! Just curious, what is the renewable biofuel made from? Thanks!
Great question! It’s made from sugarcane. Thanks for watching!
Hi Kelli, yes Mack is correct! We use bagasse, which is a fibrous pulp by-product left after the Sugarcane has been extracted. It happens to burn really well when we add some vegetable wax to it.
Will it work as good with charcoal as it appeared to work with wood fuel?
Haven’t tried that yet. If you were using a “match light” charcoal, it would probably work fine. If you were using traditional charcoal without lighter fluid, I don’t think it would work as well. I typically use a chimney starter with newspaper to light my charcoal. Looks like I need to go play with fire some more! Thanks for watching!
